Sharing the light

Isn’t teaching a wonderful thing? I had come in this week all prepared to show my students the end of year festivities in France and then teach them how to offer a Christmas greeting in the proper French way and ensure they knew Christmas vocabulary. We looked at advent calendars, St Nicolas parades , how the festivities roll out in France and the history and significance of them. Today I showed them the 2014 Fête des Lumières in Lyon which had taken place over the weekend. I asked them about whether they had seen our Lobethal Lights in Adelaide. Surprisingly, they knew nothing of them. Adelaide does Christmas very well. So my technology gift today is the Lobethal Lights in Adelaide and a link to the amazing light show in Lyon. Next lesson I shall quickly show my students the Lobethal Lights so they have an appreciation of their local celebrations. Technology can always join the dots and fill the gaps.
