Wii – ingenuity and social justice in the classroom

This is brilliant. Johnny Lee shows how with a brain, some good thinking, application of skills and ingenuity you can create something useful, fun, fascinating but, above all, something which will make a difference in the world. Once you have watched the video you can find the Wii projects here. Johnny Lee is encouraging others to use their skills and imagination in both a practical and altruistic sense. He is very modest about his attainments but, he also goes a bit fast for those of us who are not quite au courant with everything he is talking about. If you need a slower, print version to orient your thinking, Sue Frantz explains the practicalities of it all very clearly on her Technology for Academics site. When you listen to Johnny Lee you know there are plenty of opportunities for students to discover that what they are learning has important and valuable implications. Their knowledge can support good change. I am itching to try this.
