It’s no longer just about recycling. It is about upcycling and superior quality, inventiveness. Recycling has gone to a new level and why not? It’s the give them a box of bits and see how creative they can be mode and it’s fantastic! Artist Susan Stockwell made this world map for the University of Bedfordshire from motherboards and other computer components. Upcycling has become part of our art world now and there are some impressive pieces. In a more practical sense, @tomtolkien has some excellent classroom ideas on his blog for that old computer which might otherwise just be collecting dust. So look around your school and make an effort to creatively use the old technology in a way which is more inspirational and satisfying.
